| 1998 was a great year in BlissCo, one of our production,"Blue (da ba dee)" made by Maury and Jeffrey, with my modest contribution, and arranged in the final version that everybody learned to love by Gabry and Maury, became an international hit of epic proportion.
The oddly named "Eiffel65" project, became internationally known
But "Eiffel65" was just one of the projects involving Gabry , Maury & Jeffrey that year…
As an example, that year there were projects like "Full Sex" with the song "Pump In Take it Out" produced by Maury featuring the American singer Ellen Christi and the African Producer Max Who Ogbayambon ,
"Put your Arms In The Air" by "SuperMotorFunk" made by Jeffrey , Maury and Me,
"Just Be Good to Me" by Karmah, made by Gabry and Jeffrey (that strangely enough became a success in Germany 8 years later, in 2006!)
Or, always in the ‘98 there was the "Minimal Funk" project saga mostly made by Jeffrey and DJ Rama, with the songs "Tribe Thang" "Night Train To The Bronx " and "C’mon Y’All" (the latest song with the contribution of Gabry) or the "Dance Romance" (medley *Never Gonna Give You Up) by "2Nite Bros." (Jeffrey a & Gabry) almost a mashup made 20 years before the mashup would become a popular format….
The brand "Eiffel65" and the producers forming it were somehow "obliged" to become a group, due to the (right) needs of the multinational recording companies to market a group and not a collective of producers, or a brand
Becoming a group was a mixed blessing since Maury , Jeffrey and Gabry were real musician, charming lads and fantastic performers, but on the other side kind of made the three of them prisoners of a role, that they never had experienced before, being used to as they were , to make different things with different styles and people
The concept of "Band" or worse "Boys Band" as they were targeted by certain press never too much suited to them, and did not described what they really were.
So that was the "real" Eiffel65: three, very talented individual producers.
After enjoying many years of success, this aspect could no longer be ignored and they mutually agreed to pursue different goals and careers.
The decision was friendly and relations kept excellent, both with BlissCo and between them.
5 years are gone and Maury, Gabry and Jeffrey have grown and are now successful, independent producers.
That was important to say in order to answer to question that everybody is asking now:
IS EIFFEL 65 BACK?
That depends….
If you are looking for the "Band" or worse the "Boys Band" definitely not.
If you are looking for the Three Producers, that with their friends at BlissCo. could in 45 days & night of work create the album "Europop", and sell Millions of albums… definitely yes.
If you are looking for the mix of a gifted Musician, DJ and Voice that Pop the World, yes. Maury , Gabry and Jeffrey are working to write a new Eiffel65 album
They will as well make their own new productions, since that they ARE producers, not to be held in a cage but allowed to freely express their craft and abilities they developed in all these years.
WILL THEY TOUR?
Yes.
Although Jeffrey will always be in every Eiffel show, Maury and Gabry will have to fit their incredibly busy agenda with the tours, and that might prove difficult at time. We know.
That means that sometime there might not be the full crew , but in that case it will be announced much in advance.
What, anyway, will always be present in every Eiffel65 show, will be the energy, the "on stage" interpretation of their much loved anthems, the 3 people show and the discovery of the new exciting songs, all interpreted rigorously live.
Eiffel65…I see joyful faces when I talk to them, and when I talk about them
Stay with us. Massimo Gabutti
